Purest White

Hello, Friend.

With all the beautiful colors of Fall surrounding us this white rose captured my attention...I love it's simple beauty.

Fall...

I love the drives and sometimes just have to pull over to soak in all the colors.  Even knowing this is an end to a beginning of nature's rest- I love all the rich colors that demand our attention.  Nature's Glory!  Happy Colors!

To think all of our splendid colors begin with the purest of white.

Busy Day!

Well...

It's been a busy day at Bolay Farms.  As we were getting ready for church this morning~Handsome Man noticed that another Momma Cow was close to having her baby calf.  We figured that she would be done while we were at church and we would come home to a new calf.

However, I did "have" to ask the infamous question, "Have you ever had to pull a calf?"  He replied, "Yes, I have and now let's get on the road for church."  I'm still checking on her as we are leaving.  (I mean~I've been there before myself and well...you know!)

We returned home following a great worship and time of fellowship with our church family - to find her still working on her important job.  Handsome Man decides it's time to check on her.  You got it~she was in need of assistance.  He tried to help her there (in the pasture) but she wouldn't have that, she got up and turned to give him the eye.  "I'm a little busy here!"  So to the barn we go...

I loved it~Handsome Man was so gentle walking her up to the barn.  I really love this guy!

Got her in the chute and time to pull!

I would say, "Ouch!"  She looked relieved!  Isn't it cute!!!!

Tuesday Readers

I belong to a Book Club.

There are some pretty amazing women in our group.  I love them all and really have fun sharing time with them!  Today, we met at a farmhouse and were treated to a delicious Brunch in the country.  This lady is a definite made from scratch woman.

Yes~we discussed a book... But, food first!

Breakfast Pizza (recipe from an old church cookbook), fruit, bubble bread and Coconut Cream pie~amazing!

You can tell we loved it all!

The book:

This fictional story touched my heart~a David versus Goliath sort of story.  I love cheering for the underdog!  

The title is based on an old Native American legend.  

Willow Creek, Montana, small town, USA, where everyone has a story.   There are a few "characters" and I mean that "literally" that you will love.  Each one with their own distinct personality and challenge to overcome.  (I know-hokie...but it's true and believable).  Settle in and get ready to become involved in the story.

Now...there are a few basketball games in this storyline.  Just in case March Madness was over too soon for you.

Those last seconds last forever!

We all agreed that it would make a great movie!

Rainy day...

This might not be Handsome Man's favorite kind of day~since he is still...cutting wheat.  But for me it's been a good morning (since I'm still missing those sweet boys that stole my heart.)

This is how today started...

Handsome Man met sticky roads on his way to service the combine.

Notice he is not smiling...

But... For me it's a perfect baking day (since I'm not getting Nana time.)

Grandma's Rolls, custard for Dad's Homemade Ice-Cream~Handsome Man has taken this over and does a great job.

I really love this guy!

I might even get a little sewing time in...

Ice.

Rain, beautiful rain. We are in great need of rain. I don't even mind the muddy roads...

But... I do have to admit that icing on an April day was not what I expected. It was absolutely beautiful driving home. I was in awe at nature's beauty. And, I loved seeing water flowing through the creeks again! Water~Nature's Chimes. It was also very cold!

Next question ??? How will this effect the wheat fields??? Oh-Handsome Man...

All Washed Up...

All washed up...

It was anything but intentional-however I washed my cell phone in the washing machine. Oh yeah! Really!

As you can see the Otter Box did a great job with the impact protection end-however I didn't get the one that was also water resistant.

As Handsome Man says, "A luxury once enjoyed - soon becomes a necessity."
So the next day...I shopped for a new phone.

The team work involved with friends in rolling, stacking, and dressing

the newest neighborhood friend.

they are happy, jolly additions to any home.

You just can't be in a bad mood around one!

I purchased a few patterns~

I'm planning on adding a happy snowman as a future project.

Good Read

Book Club Time...

A good Christmas read,

a good message,

a happy ending...

yeah...it was predictable~

but I enjoyed the simplicity of the story line.

The setting was similar to our small town community

and all the wonderful people who live there.

~I really like happy endings.

And sometimes you just need an easy read.

And there are the goodies!

Sew Time

This is it!  My final block for the Pizza Challenge!  Yay!
In a few days I will get my box and finally see all the blocks my quilt friends have done for me.  It's been 12 months and a lot of fun!

I have continued to use the Pinwheel pattern.

I love the colors this friend has chosen.

Can't wait to give it to her!

(Just a little sad it's coming to an end.)

But...I'm going to have a small quilt almost complete.

Good Eats

I've been toying with eggs...

Part of my "healthy" eating begins with two eggs for breakfast.

Fried eggs (with olive oil) are a favorite,

but I've tried to branch out and this was one option.

Gently scrambled with spinach and tomato.

It was pretty good.

(Love my china...only the best!)

No...

it's not rabbit food.

Just a simple salad with tomato and celery;

and I've discovered a yummy salad dressing!

(Top with a hard boiled egg or chicken.)

On Wednesday (last week), I posted two pics

and mentioned something about~

Get Healthy.

Handsome Man and myself are participating in a 24 Day Challenge.

Challenge for me is an understatement.

I am not a fan of:  veggies, fruit (with the exception of pears),

cooking dinner, exercising...basically anything healthy.

I am a fan of:  desserts, chocolate, cheeseburgers, cheese pizza...

(I do like pizza with an EVO base rather than the red sauce.)

((That doesn't count for much!))

So...

And because of the above I am's~I need to make a life style change.

And because Handsome Man agrees ~ he's taking the challenge with me as a team effort.

(I reallllllly, reallllllllllly love this guy!)

Those muffins from last Wednesday were a fiber muffin with chopped apples and pears.  And believe it or not~Yum.

Off to a good start and wishing you a healthy week!
